Favorite Adoption Books

I have a listing of my favorite adoption resources, but as I go through them, I am sure there are many more out there.  Share with me your favorite adoption book (or two or three) and why it's a must-read.

  1. "20 Things Adoptive Parents Need to Succeed: by Sherri Eldredge. It is great because it's practical. It also opened my eyes to the very real world of adoptee grief and how adoptive parents can foster healing within their children.

  2. "The Weaver's Craft: Toddler Adoption" by Mary Hopkins-Best is one of the (very) few books specific to adopting a toddler that my husband and I have found. It discusses developmental stages and what to expect from your adopted toddler. I love it because it isn't all scary and negative (like some others we read) but shows the awesome things about adopting a toddler while setting up realistic expectations. We haven't had a chance to put it into practice yet, but hopefully soon!
